True to our name and our pledge to create opportunities for members to rub shoulders with recognised thought leaders and hear from inspiring speakers, we have a wealth of talent lined up for the next Royall Wealth Club event. And to help get the new year off to a rousing start, members will also be able to enjoy a live performance from critically acclaimed singer-songwriter, Fraser Anderson, at the evening event being held at Bristol’s Bordeaux Quay on 23 January, from 6pm.
A modern and highly talented British folk artist, Bristol-based Fraser is busy making waves on the music scene and is receiving rave reviews for the quality of his songwriting and performances. Presenter Zoe Ball has described him as an “amazing singer-songwriter”, while in a write up in the legendary Rolling Stone magazine, Fraser was said to be “one to keep an eye on”. An all-round entertainer, he’s been likened to Irish singer-songwriter Damien Rice with the storytelling gifts of Glen Hansard and the showmanship of the late John Martyn. His warm singing voice was described as “truly beautiful” by the BBC Radio 2 host, Bob Harris. In April 2016, Fraser released his fourth album, ‘Under the Cover of Lightness’, to great acclaim.
Interestingly, Fraser and his Bristol-based management team Audio Bay are presently exploring new investment and funding strategies for their industry and the creative industries more generally - something that is bound to resonate with a few of our guest speakers. Fraser, who is set to tour America in February this year for the first time, will be performing three songs at the Royall Wealth Club, together with backing singer Bex Baxter.
Meanwhile, guest speakers at the event include Bristol-born John Pontin, an entrepreneur, property developer and champion of sustainable development; founding chief executive of Bristol & Bath Regional Capital CIC (BBRC), Ed Rowberry; Oliver Mochizuki co-founder of Fundsurfer and the BrisFest musical festival. Senior investment analyst at Resonance, Grace Howells, and Alex Higgins, from Triodos Bank, a specialist in arranging finance for charitable and social organisations, complete the line-up for an evening definitely not to be missed. We look forward to seeing you there!
